Allyson Vuli
Psychotherapist
BA (Hons), PG Dip, RDMP, UKCP
Creativity and self expression has been a passion throughout my life.
Prior to qualifying as a therapist my professional background was in visual and performing arts, before moving into teaching in educational and community settings. Through these experiences, I discovered a passion not only for helping people, but a fascination for learning and self-expression through creativity. As a teacher, I found that in facilitating creative process we can discover ourselves, overcome difficulties, release and work through past trauma and find and develop inner resources and resilience.

This led me to my Master’s training in Psychotherapy. this enabled me to interweave the various threads of my professional experience to support and empower people towards positive change.
I have previously worked within the NHS in mental health, addiction and in CAMHS settings. I have also worked in community settings supporting adults with mental health issues delivering individual and group psychotherapy, before working in private practice. My specialist areas are working with complex mental health issues, anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, bereavement, loss. I also work with groups families, and with parents supporting children with complex needs.

I am also a visiting lecturer at the University of Derby, and a full clinical member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy and the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy
